Bird is the word...

It was a cold, snowy, crafty kind of weekend! In preparation for Thanksgiving I made matching aprons for my friend and I. According to my sister, "how Lucy and Ethel of you"! Yep, sounds about right! Unfortunately as happens, more often than I would like, I ran out of fabric for the second apron so I had to make it with 2" straps as opposed to 4". Of course, if I would have just done a narrow hem I wouldn't have run out of fabric but I just don't really like leaving the back side of the strap, naked. Call me crazy but I'm a bit neurotic like that. I drafted the pattern for the apron, which if I were to do it over, would make the skirt a bit fuller and flowy and changed the pocket but overall, still fun.

Of course, I started gathering tulle and just couldn't stop myself and then I found the ric-rac.  I realized I didn't have enough red for both so just decided to do the opposite on the other.  Red tulle, pink ric-rac so then we won't be like EXACTLY matchy matchy...right?  Oh like I care...who am I kidding???  I'm surprised I didn't spray the whole thing with glitter...YET!  Next up are matching beverage holders, got the white fuzzy boa and everything ready to go...bring on the glue and rhinestones!!!

Let's go turkey...GAME ON!  ;)

Pretty, pretty princesses...

Once again we had such a fabulously silly Sunday!!! We got to talk with lots of people and made some new friends. It was a beautiful day!

This was my new friend, Elizabeth who picked out her new purple and pink tutu. I even got her to twirl with me...it was so fun! What I love even more is she had to come back to show me all of the fun new goodies she got at the market that day!

She was such a little cutie, It absolutely made my day when she came back to model for us! I asked if her ruby slippers would fit me but she seemed a little unsure about that one. I guess my niece is right when she says they are just for little kids...that is until I make my own!!!! =)

Of course the day would not be complete with our little furry model!  He (yes...he but he was a great sport about it!) was a hit and sold out the "tutus de pooch"! He stole the spotlight!!! To make a great end to the day, we ventured up to a friends house and relaxed around the fire...it was a beautiful night and I look forward to the next!

Lessons in life...

Well, with the first market out of the way I have to admit I did learn a few things so I guess that is a success right? I have to admit I was thoroughly pleased with the setup and the flamingos! They were the hit of the party!

But how could he not be THE hit of the party?  My husband found his rocks so his drink would be a little closer (he is so thoughtful) and I was able to make his party hat to match the tutu!  FABULOUS!!!

I had a lot of fun and loved having my friends and family come and visit throughout the day and bring me lunch and snacks and of course all the fun people I got to talk to throughout the day!  It was an absolutely beautiful day and I was so thankful for that!!!

I learned I need to get to work on some smaller items!  I didn't have much in the way of baby/toddler inventory but will get to work and see what I can pull together for the next show.  Next time we will be sharing a 10x20 tent with my friend and my husband will be there to help me out and keep me laughing during the day!  =)

However, I am still attempting to figure out how I am going to get my sewing in since my sister and family is in town, it is the 4th of July, our FIRST Anniversary, and my birthday all rolled into a few days but once the hectic schedule simmers down the Head Elf will be back in her "workshop" to create more fluffy, sweet, delicious fun!!!

So many ideas...so little time!!!

HAPPY SUMMER!!!
(Go grab yourself a pink flamingo...they're making a comeback!!!)
