New cards...

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new business cards.  I can't wait to see them.

I have been searching and attempting to create something that I love and this pretty closely fits the bill!  It has polka dots, the colors I wanted, clean, fun...I love them!!!  Also, got some new Etsy banners and such once I get my self in gear and items up on the sight!  It's definitely a bit of work but I know will be so worth it and I am really looking forward to it!

I am now teaching myself how to make patterns and am super excited to see what evolves!  I have a couple of lessons under my belt with my serger and my cover stitch class next month!  Ahhhh, the little things in life.  As my husband is off to the football game with a friend, I am daydreaming about all of the things I can't wait to do and put together!  I have to admit, I never thought this is the direction my life would be going but getting my sewing machine a couple of years ago has been liberating and so fulfilling!  I am still wondering if sewing can be passed down as a gene....my Mom must have passed something down to me.  ;) (and for that I am eternally grateful...thanks Mom(s)!!!)

For now...I am off to work on a little sock monkey dress for my little monkey (my niece...she just rolled over to the 6 mos. mark, such an angel that one)!!!

I just finished and packed up round 1 of the pillowcases.  Next, I will work on some for boys since these are all pretty girlie!  They are so bright and cheery...I love them!  I have also figured out I definitely have a thing for polka dots....LOVE them!

So here are a few pictures of the finished cases.

So, there you have it...the first set of pillowcases for Conkerr Cancer: A case for smiles!!! =)

project 9

I am so excited to have discovered Craft Hope yesterday! To be able to potentially bring smiles to people and children is something I love to do and I am very very excited to work on their current project, project 9. September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and volunteers are sewing as many pillowcases they can to donate to Children's Hospitals all over the country to bring a smile or two to children with life threatening illnesses. I am so grateful to be able to participate and make a contribution. I can't wait to get home and sew the 9 cases I have cut so far! I will have to post a few pictures once they are complete! Plus, I am super excited to use my new serger to construct them!!! Yayyyy!!!

Pretty, pretty princesses...

Once again we had such a fabulously silly Sunday!!! We got to talk with lots of people and made some new friends. It was a beautiful day!

This was my new friend, Elizabeth who picked out her new purple and pink tutu. I even got her to twirl with me...it was so fun! What I love even more is she had to come back to show me all of the fun new goodies she got at the market that day!

She was such a little cutie, It absolutely made my day when she came back to model for us! I asked if her ruby slippers would fit me but she seemed a little unsure about that one. I guess my niece is right when she says they are just for little kids...that is until I make my own!!!! =)

Of course the day would not be complete with our little furry model!  He (yes...he but he was a great sport about it!) was a hit and sold out the "tutus de pooch"! He stole the spotlight!!! To make a great end to the day, we ventured up to a friends house and relaxed around the fire...it was a beautiful night and I look forward to the next!

Sunday Silliness!!!

This Sunday, July 25, I will be down at the Park Silly Market once again!  We had so much fun last week and looking forward to another fun weekend!  We had a great location on Main Street within the Beer Garden and will be there again this week!  Come say hi if you are out and about...should be a beautiful Park City summer day!

Yep...right in front of that 80s neon arrow is where you can find me with some new tutu color combos.  I have a big order of tulle coming in tomorrow so I can replenish my stock!  Someone was inquiring about tutus for Halloween and absolutely...we can come up with a fabulous outfit since I know it will be here before we know it!  (No matter how much I am trying to get summer to slow down just a wee bit!!!)  =)

So come visit if you are around, would love to say hi!  Plus, I should have a few more items (hoping to get a few purses done) as I also got in some new fabric the other day.  As always, if you need a different size, just let me know...I take orders!!!  ;)

Sunday Funday!!!

Yesterday was such a fun day!  Although a little warm (I am not going to complain since it is finally nice outside!!!) we managed to have a blast!

Sometimes words just won't do so pictures will have to!

She was just as excited as I was when she got this bright pink tutu!  It was for her birthday which is tomorrow and I have to admire someone who is that happy with something that is just so fun!  The cocktail waitress that was roaming around on the street and modeling the Rootbeer tutu!  (Somehow we missed that picture but it looked fabulous and raised a few eyebrows and raised some attention for my booth!

These lil' guys & dolls were soo happy rockin' their new tutus! The lil' pink tutu was for Fergie! She was the sweetest lil' thing, I wanted to take her home with me! She is 2 1/2 and seriously a doll!  ;)  The lil' Chihuahua got the black tutu with the zebra ribbon detail.  Their sibling get theirs next week only that one will be orange!!!  Can't wait to get a picture of both!

This lil' sweetie got her strawberries and cream tutu for her 1st birthday that is coming up soon!  They wanted the pink one which they thought would be perfect for pictures!  She is a doll and I managed to get a big smile out of her before they continued on their day!!!  =)

So, now it is time to get ready for the market next week!  I have to get busy on some new tutus!  I have some new colors coming and can't wait to put some new color combos together!

How does time get faster as I get older???

I have to say the first couple of weeks in July has been a whirlwind! My sister and her family came into town for the week of the 4th, we had our First Anniversary followed by my birthday week (yep...week!) and trying to get things together for back to back Silly Markets for the next two Sundays! All while trying to figure out how we already got TO the middle of July!!!

It's quite mind boggling to me.  :)

I have been working on some new aprons since I was pretty much sold out and am soooo excited for the one I cut this morning and the matching pot holders!!!  Too cute!  I am really excited too for the fabric I just ordered.

Las Senoritas by Alexander Henry!  One of my favorite purses is out of this fabric and I am excited for all the other things I will make with it!  The colors are so bright and fabulous, I just absolutely love it!

Fiesta de los Muertos by Alexander Henry!!!  I love this one with the guitars and the colors, the skirts and flower and bows...it's so fun!  He has some of the best Folklorico style fabrics, it's hard to pick!

Although I have to say I am really starting to run out of room for all my fabric and projects...I am being overtaken!!!  I cannot wait for my studio!!!  I am still not sure which I am more excited for...my studio or the kitchen?!?!?!?!?!?

So much fabric...so little time.

I have been updating my current fabrics and am in the process of trying to add and delete to keep them current with what I have.  You can check them out on HERE Flickr!  Check back as I will be adding more and will be putting in a new order (new fabrics are out!!!) and will post those as well!

Also, I am working on some new tutus as well.  You can check out tulle color availability in the picture below if you are looking for particular combinations!!!

The tutus start at $27 and go to around $40 depending on size and ribbon options.  Feel free to send me a message or leave a comment if you are looking for anything special!  I will be working on some birthday tutus as well as holiday/special occasion but any ideas/comments are welcome!

I have a couple of current items people have requested and have a few new retro apron patterns I am working on for my next Silly Market which will be on July 18th!  I am really excited for those and can't wait to post some new pics once I get them finished...totally fabulous!  I have to get busy but have taken some time off to visit with family that has been in town, celebrate our first anniversary and then my birthday!  It's been a busy couple of weeks I'll tell ya...and I've LOVED every minute of it!!!

Lessons in life...

Well, with the first market out of the way I have to admit I did learn a few things so I guess that is a success right? I have to admit I was thoroughly pleased with the setup and the flamingos! They were the hit of the party!

But how could he not be THE hit of the party?  My husband found his rocks so his drink would be a little closer (he is so thoughtful) and I was able to make his party hat to match the tutu!  FABULOUS!!!

I had a lot of fun and loved having my friends and family come and visit throughout the day and bring me lunch and snacks and of course all the fun people I got to talk to throughout the day!  It was an absolutely beautiful day and I was so thankful for that!!!

I learned I need to get to work on some smaller items!  I didn't have much in the way of baby/toddler inventory but will get to work and see what I can pull together for the next show.  Next time we will be sharing a 10x20 tent with my friend and my husband will be there to help me out and keep me laughing during the day!  =)

However, I am still attempting to figure out how I am going to get my sewing in since my sister and family is in town, it is the 4th of July, our FIRST Anniversary, and my birthday all rolled into a few days but once the hectic schedule simmers down the Head Elf will be back in her "workshop" to create more fluffy, sweet, delicious fun!!!

So many ideas...so little time!!!

HAPPY SUMMER!!!
(Go grab yourself a pink flamingo...they're making a comeback!!!)

Getting closer...

So my first Park Silly Sunday Market is this weekend and ready or not...here it comes!  I have a few more items I would like to get done but if not, as my hubby keeps telling me...it's not the end of the world!  =)

We got the concrete in the buckets and the flamingos firmly secured (even if one is a party animal and can't stand up straight...pictures to follow after Sunday)!  A new coat of paint and we should be good to go.  I hope all goes well but the weather is supposed to be lovely and sunny!  YIPPPEEEE!

I so wish I had a picture of the apron I just made but a friend bought it hot off the press!  I used the MM Modern Family fabric, which is the same I used in the purse below.  It turned out so stinkin' cute!  the waist and ties were orange Ta Dot and it was fabulous!  Definitely my favorite so far that is until the gnomes come out and play...

Hee hee hee...ready or not...here I come!!!!

But most importantly...HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

I love stuff!!!!

My sincere apologies for the delay in posting!  =)  Things have definitely been a little busy to say the least!

Let's see...I finally got my fabric (yippppeeeeee), the flamingos came but I've decided they need a fresh coat of BRIGHT pink paint! (They need a little face lift)  I received the rest of my tulle and getting ready to place another order and I've been able to get a few more items finished and definitely adding to the collection of fluffy tutus!  Today's flavors will be:  Cookies & Cream and Rainbow Sherbet!  I love, love, love it!  I think I am having way too much fun even if I am up to my eyeballs in yards and yards of delicious tulle!

So here is the stuffed rack (but my lovely husband is putting a second one together for me today) of "cotton candy" I have recently finished.

Also, seeing that I finally got my fabric in (first order went missing so they reshipped it two weeks later and finally...finally 3 weeks later I got it!) I was able to finish my little gnome dresses I had started.  I absolutely love this fabric, it makes me smile every time I see it!

Sizes

I also finally got around to putting the bias trim and ties on the retro housewife half apron.  I think it turned out rather cute.  I have a few more aprons cut and will hopefully get them put together this weekend.

I have to admit, my very first show is in a little over a week and I am a wee bit nervous!  =)

So lets see...while I'm at it, here are a couple of more zippered clutches I finished and the Los Novios purse I like to call "Maggie"!

I will try and post some pictures of the new tutu flavors. Not sure which is more fun...the finished product or naming them!!! Thanks to my hubby, the newest flavor is Cookies and Cream!!! Yummmmmy!!!

Peachy, delightful, lovely, charming...

So this morning I got an email with a link to an update from Fabrics I love showing a dress I made from the fabrics I purchased from her. Too cute, it made me smile! I loved those dresses I made for the twins and I hope to see them modeling the dresses soon!

Also got my labels which I mentioned earlier but so very excited about.

I think they turned out pretty well and am very excited about them.

We had our first meeting for the Silly Market yesterday and I finally ordered my canopy. I have to admit I am kind of excited although not quite sure which I am more excited for...the Market or decorating the tent. I have a couple of ideas which I think are going to turn out pretty cute and I can't wait. Of course I will post pictures but for now...shhhhhh....it's a surprise!!!

I absolutely LOVE surprises!!!!

What to do...what to do...

Seeing that I could not sleep on this lovely sunny Sunday morning, I decided to finally cut and cut and cut purses, dresses, aprons, clutches...oh my! However, I think the thing I am most excited about is finally getting to put my bright, happy, colorful zippers to use! I think I had more fun picking out which ones to use with what and now can't wait to see them all put together!

I am running out of fabric though and am beginning to stress just a weeeeee bit seeing that my first show is in three weeks and the LARGE fabric order I placed 2 weeks ago has still not shown up and is missing in the bermuda triangle for mail. I'm thinking it's a bit like when you end up with one sock out of the dryer...you have no idea where it went but I am hoping I can still get it in time.

On a fabulous note...I just got my new labels!!! They look great! I am so happy with them. I got them from Custom Couture Label Co. and will definitely be using them again. They have great customer service and I couldn't be happier! (plus I can start sewing again now that I have a fresh supply of new labels...pheeew!

But for now...it is 10 o'clock, although seeing that I have been up since around 5:00, it feels more like mid afternoon ;) and it is now time for me to go play in the sunshine for a while and then head over to our friends for a cookout and the Playoffs! I love Sundays...well with the exception that Monday follows that but I am going to choose to ignore that for now! ;)

HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

So yummy!!!

So I finally sent my design in so I can get some labels made!  I am super excited and think it turned out pretty cute so I have to say I am pretty pleased with my design.  It will be fun for the kid's things.  I can't wait to see them!!!

It's the little things in life for sure...like coming up with fun flavors of tutus.  As I was cutting blues and greens today I started thinking of The Little Mermaid and thought about Under the Sea since it's kind of like water.  I also finished one yesterday which I have not yet named but reminds me of rainbow sherbet a little bit but perhaps more of the berry kind.  I will have to get a picture of it.  Maybe...Bananaberry!  =()

Happy Monday!!!!

Plant, animal, or vegetable...

Well none of the above I suppose when it really comes down to it. But I did find some chickens in my kitchen the other day. ;)

I finally got an apron put together this weekend.  I have some cut still but keep getting sidetracked on all my other fun things I am making.  But I absolutely LOVE the colors of this one.  I happened to have the yellow polka dots for something else but was so excited when I happened to have the two next to each other!!!  I have to say I might have a hard time parting with this one.  ;)

I was also able to get some of the coasters and napkins finished but not the matching apron yet.  It is still sitting in pieces waiting for me to bring it to life!  I think the napkins turned out pretty cute.

I think the Michael Miller Paris Ville fabric is really fun with the Candy Ta Dot!  Pink and polka dots!!!!  Fabulous!  Makes me want to sit outside at a cafe with my iced coffee and perhaps a scone!!!

Of course, I have been kind of excited for the little clutches I have also been making.  I have another one in progress which will be lined with vinyl but had a slight snafu with the zipper so had to take it apart today and start over but will get that one up once it's finished.  It's Alexander Henry Regent Skull...really liking it and with the vinyl will make a great make-up bag!

However I think my favorite might be the little Minnie Dot pleated skirt.  It's an 18 - 24 mos.  Something about things that tiny just make them cuter!  I love little clothes, they are so precious and I giggle every time I finish one.  I take it, come out of the room and go show my husband who just smiles and shakes his head b/c I am giggling at each and every one!  Bless his heart for putting up with me and my fabric EVERYWHERE!!  =)

Plus...I just got all my tulle to work on fabulous tutus.  I am just trying to figure out when I am going to fit all this in!  There seriously are not enough hours in the day I tell ya!  What's a girl to do???  =)
